O'Reilly Jakan Law Offices, P.A. was founded in 2010 by Erin O'Reilly Jakan in order to provide professional, personal, confidential and compassionate legal services to those residing in York, Cumberland, and Androscoggin counties.


Erin O'Reilly Jakan, Esq.

     Prior to founding O'Reilly Jakan Law Offices, P.A., Ms. O'Reilly Jakan worked for an established York County firm specializing in Family Law. She also practiced as a student attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic; earning the 2007-2008 Student Attorney of the Year Award and interned with the Lewiston District Court.

     Ms. O'Reilly Jakan earned her J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law in 2008. While at Maine Law, she was a member of the Women's Law Society and President of the Maine Association for Public Interest Law (MAPIL); organizing the annual MAPIL Auction in both 2007 and 2008.

     Before relocating to Maine, Ms. O'Reilly Jakan resided in Boston where she pursued a career as a Program Director for Bridgewell, Inc. In this role she managed homes for individuals diagnosed with mental retardation and other psychological, medical, and/or physical disorders. During this time she also served as a coach for Bridgewell's Special Olympic Team and served on the Human Rights Committee.

     Ms. O'Reilly Jakan graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Hampshire in 2002 earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Justice Studies. In her time at UNH she was an active member of both Phi Beta Kappa and Pi Gamma Mu honor societies and a founding member/treasurer of the Mock Trial Team.

     Currently a member of the American Bar Association, the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Family Law and the Child Protective & Juvenile Justice Sections of the Maine Bar Association. Ms. O'Reilly Jakan continuously strives to keep abreast of the legal issues most pertinent to her clients. Ms. O'Reilly Jakan is also a rostered Guardian ad litem and is a member of Maine's Guardian ad litem Institute.

     Ms. O'Reilly Jakan is also involved in various community activities such as supporting her local animal shelter and volunteering her legal services to both Pine Tree Legal Assistance and Caring Unlimited through their various programs.

Ms. O'Reilly Jakan is currently licensed to practice law in both Maine and Massachusetts.
